Optix
Well, this post is a little delayed, but I've been working for the last month and a half at Optix Digital Picture and Sound, a fairly large postproduction facility in downtown Toronto. The sound department is fairly new to the company, since Optix just bought out Crunch Recording a few months ago.
Being an intern, I get to do a lot of the grunt work such as conversions, digitizing tapes, file transfers and backups, etc. But I also get to do prep work for ADR sessions and I'm beginning to do some dialogue and SFX editing, which is exciting!
I'm absolutely loving it there. I have two more weeks of the internship left - and then hopefully I will be hired. We'll see. Check back in two weeks, because I'll probably make a post either way (if it's not ridiculously delayed like this one was).
